EFFECT OF TRACE METAL FECL3 ON BIOGAS PRODUCTION IN INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT WITH HIGH ORGANIC LOAD

Wastewater from the food industry that contains a high organic load, such as wastewater tofu manufacturing process, requires an appropriate and efficient treatment system to reduce pollutants before being discharged into water bodies. The most suitable for loads is anaerobic system. process of suspended media, attached or combination thereof hybrid. This study uses Hybrid Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (HUASB) reactor with consideration this has advantages in maintaining concentrations biomass, operating load rates, good decomposition capabilities, solid-liquid separation due granulation. purpose was determine effect addition trace metal FeCl3 on biogas production ability remove industrial HUASB reactor. operation variations concentration waste (75 100%) (0.3–0.6 mg/L). optimum obtained 8190 mL at 75% water, 0.6 mg/L FeCl3, removal COD TSS 94.09% 94.2%, respectively. role FeCl3in shows it source nutrition increasing growth microorganisms systems so pollutant are increased.
